I've recently started rereading some classic newspaper comic strips and was surprised by how well many of them have aged. Even though they were created decades ago, the storytelling and humor still feel enjoyable.

What I appreciate most is the artwork. Without relying on modern digital effects, many artists created expressive characters and memorable scenes using only simple line work and clever composition.

At the same time, modern comics often have faster pacing, more detailed artwork, and a wider variety of genres. Both styles have their own strengths, and I think it's interesting to see how the medium has evolved over time.
