When looking at #1s of an independent comic series, aka not Marvel nor DC, one way to determine this is by checking the back cover. If you see an add for Netflix on the back cover, for example on Space Bandits 1, it has been optioned by Netflix. In general, independent comics with good stories get optioned for streaming services since they don't have to deal with all the licensing that Marvel and DC have.
